Referral for Hepatitis B
Order HBV tests:

HBsAg - Hepatitis B Surface Antigen with Reflex to Confirmation
-
HBsAb (Anti-HBs) - Hepatitis B Surface Antibody, Quantitative
-
HBcAb (Anti-HBc) - Hepatitis B Core Antibody (Total or IgG)
If HBsAg is positive (+), then order the following lab tests:​
-
HBV DNA
-
HBeAg/anti-HBe
-
Anti-HDV
-
HCV antibody (Ab) with reflex to HCV RNA Quantitative and HCV genotype
-
HIV-1/2 antigen-antibody test
-
CBC with platelets
-
CMP with hepatic function and eGFR
-
PT/INR
-
Fibrosis scoring (FibroSure, FibroAct, etc.) and/or a Fibroscan if available
-
Abdominal ultrasound

*Resistance-associated substitutions (RAS) - (only needed if the patient was previously treated)
*Serum pregnancy test if needed
​
*Urine testing for STDs (Gonorrhea & Chlamydia) - Arkansas Dept. of Health screening
*Syphilis – Arkansas Dept. of Health screening
* Only needed if relevant.

If HRA has not contacted the patient within 48-72 hours after receiving the patient's referral, please have the patient contact HRA. Once we have the patient's consent and the patient's contact information we will engage with them in the creation and management of their treatment plan.
